Keyen's and my love story started just like every other modern romance these days…with two swipes right. In 2022, we were both scrolling the dating app, Hinge, in hopes of scoring a fun date. I don’t think either of us had much faith in finding our life partner online. However, that Fall the two of us matched and our story began! (Fun Fact: I was Keyen’s first and only date from Hinge) Our first date was a comedy show in Downtown Indy followed by drinks at a nearby arcade bar. The night consisted of a lot of laughing and a lot of talking…well at least by me. Keyen quickly caught my heart by his ability to listen and ask questions. Keyen would say my laugh and passion for life caught his attention that night. However, he would also say that I wouldn’t stop talking about how I had plans to move out-of-state once I finished grad school in the Spring. Clearly, God had other plans which included falling in love with a bald man who owned motorcycles lol! After our first date, our relationship developed in somewhat of a whirlwind. Only a few weeks after meeting, we invited one another to spend Christmas with our families. Our friends said we were crazy, but hey…when you know, you know! During that time, I also got the approval from Keyen’s best friend, Hutch (our not-so-scary Pitbull). After the Holidays, I started a 3-month stent of away clinical rotations. Honestly, I was fearful that my time away would pull us apart, but my fears were settled when Keyen surprised me by showing up at my hotel door during my second week in St. Louis. After a day of exploring the city, he asked me to be his girlfriend! Since then, we have had fun creating a life together. Props to Keyen because he has put up with all my crazy ideas with grace. This includes the time I adopted our kitten, Harry, on a whim and told Keyen he had to live with him because I didn’t yet have a place in Indy (Keyen never wanted a cat). We have enjoyed traveling, moving in together, and yes…adopting our second kitten, Cooper. We are so excited for our next adventure of marriage and feel unbelievably blessed to celebrate it with all of you. We can’t wait to see you all! With love, Katie & Keyen
