With both of us living in different cities, we believe that something larger than ourselves was at work in the background for us to end up together. We think we got close enough to one another when McKenzie was in Indianapolis for work, and had a small window where we showed up for each other on Tinder. After less than a day of messaging, and several late nights spent on FaceTime, we met for our first real date at Garfield Park in Indianapolis, and have essentially been together ever since.

We had both been planning to propose, and had both spoken with McKenzie's sister, Meghan. She was ultimately the one who nudged McKenzie to propose at the same time as Katie, and kept it a secret for weeks. Under the assumption that we were there to take pictures of another engaged couple, we ended up proposing to each other inside the conservatory at Garfield Park.
