We met at Triptych, a reading series, on May 14th, 2013 in the Lower East Side. Jonas Mekas and Steph Gray were reading. We were introduced by a mutual friend on the sidewalk and Katie T showed Katie F a picture of a black crowned night heron she had taken in Prospect Park. We took the train south together and started sending each other cute messages on Facebook (KF sent a link to a baby hawk cam, KT sent updates on painting her bedroom orange). Many months later, Katie F invited Katie T to a New Year's Eve party at a loft on Taaffe Place. Katie T came with a friend and left to go to another party, but then she came back! And thus began the romance of two Katies!
