Julian and I met first day of freshman year of high school. We had seats next to each other and had to do one of those awkward "get to know your neighbor" meet and greets. Julian was a nervous wreck and would barely talk, and I of course wouldn't shut up. After a few questions we were pretty shocked with how much we had in common and from that moment on we were inseparable. Over the next 4 years we competed with "Cory and Topanga" for the most intense version of puppy love there had ever been. From traumatic breakups, to FWB and everything in between we clung to each other even when we didn't necessarily want to. We couldn't even help it. After graduation we parted ways and went on to take some pretty different paths. Paths that ended with us being about 1,300 miles apart. While Julian went out and lived a normal bachelor style life, I started a family with four children just like I had always dreamed of. We were consumed with our own chaos and both a bit incomplete. Aside from the occasional Facebook message we really didn't talk much over those ten years. That all changed in June of 2018. While I was having a coffee break with my youngest daughter, an all grown up version of my Juju walked in to a Kokomo Starbucks. As soon as i saw him I tried to shy away but when his eyes caught mine my entire world flipped upside down. It was like the entire universe conspired to pull our souls back together again. There was so much magic in that moment we couldn't have fought it even if we had wanted to. The light and love we had yearned for for years was finally back and it ignited like never before. While Julian has always been a hopeless romantic, I was a bit cynical when it came to the concept of "soul mates." I guess the jokes on me. Julian and I growing as partners and blending our families has been the most beautiful thing we've ever witnessed. We are so grateful you all get to experience it with us! Forever.. first and last loves. All our love, Katie and Julian
