We met through our mutual friends, Iain and Vanessa, while going out dancing. Katie was living in Florida, and Jon was living in NYC, but was back home in Florida visiting his family. A few dates together over the following weeks fed the flames of love. It was the end of January 2015. We parted ways with a newly formed friendship, but the way Jon spun Katie around on the dance floor that first night certainly caught her heart. Coincidentally, Katie and Vanessa had already planned a girls' trip to visit friends in NYC for Valentine's Day just two weeks later. We were able to reconnect and have our first real date that Valentine's Day weekend... and the rest is history!

After a year and a half of dating long-distance, we made a big decision. At the end of August 2016, Jon helped Katie pack her car with all her possessions that could fit, and we drove over 1,000mi up the East Coast so that we could finally live together.

There are way too many memories, friends, hardships, and big wins to try to put into words and summarize all the years we lived in NYC... So we're not even going to try. But over eight years of living in the city together, this is where and when we truly fell in love. This is where and when we became best friends. And this is where and when we became family. Oh, and this is also where and when we got our dog, Leeloo!

At the end of 2024, the three of us — Jon, Katie, and Leeloo — made the migration South. We moved back to Florida so that we could be closer to our families for this next big chapter in our lives. As we've gotten to know our new neighborhood in Jensen Beach, we now walk Leeloo at Indian River Side Park, passing the Mansion at Tuckahoe every week! Because of this, it was easy to choose this as our wedding venue, and we can't wait to celebrate with you there soon!
