Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kaitlyn McKalip and Joseph Bibelhausen
Below are some of our top Portland recommendations on neighborhoods to check out, things to see/do, and places to eat/drink while you're in town. If you have some extra time and are able to explore further form the city (HIGHLY recommend!), the top areas to check out are the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood, Willamette Valley Wine Country, and the Oregon Coast (all within a 2 hour drive or less from Portland).

International Rose Test Garden

400 SW Kingston Ave., Portland, OR 97205

About a mile from our wedding venue, we highly recommend you walk through the famous Portland rose garden before making your way to the ceremony. Bonus: it's free!

Portland Japanese Garden

611 Southwest Kingston Avenue, Portland, OR 97205

Situated right by the Rose Garden, check out the Japanese Garden which also has beautiful views of the whole city. Tickets are $17.

Northwest 23rd Avenue

Northwest 23rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97210

Head to this neighborhood for streets lined with cute shops, restaurants, and bars.

South Waterfront

2 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland, OR 97239

Stroll along the riverfront and check out the Saturday Market (operates both Saturdays and Sundays).

Forest Park Trails

Lower Macleay Trail, Portland, OR 97210

For some beautiful walks in nature without leaving the city check out Forest Park. Recommendation: take the Lower Macleay Trail to the Wildwood trail for a nice hike up to Pittock Mansion with views of the whole city.

North Mississippi Avenue

North Mississippi Avenue, Portland, OR

One of our favorite streets in Portland. More shops, food, and bars. Recommendation: have a beer (or a boot!) at Prost, a German beer bar with multiple food trucks onsite for quick bites.

SE Portland Neighborhoods - Belmont, Hawthorne, Division

3030 Hawthorne Street, Portland, OR 97216

WIth more of a classic "Portland weird" feel, the Southeast neighborhoods, including Hawthorne, Belmont, and Division streets have lots to explore. Head to a favorite breakfast spot - Fried Egg I'm in Love - at 3549 SE Hawthorne.

Mount Tabor

6738 Mt. Tabor, Portland, OR

Another great park for some nature and trails without leaving the city is Mount Tabor. You an also drive to the top for views of the city!

10 Barrel Brewing Portland

1411 Northwest Flanders Street, Portland, OR 97209

Great beer, food, and a rooftop patio. Also walking distance from some other breweries worth checking out - Deschutes, Rogue, Von Ebert, and River Pig (not a brewery, but a good spot).

A Roadside Attraction

1000 Southeast 12th Avenue, Portland, OR 97214
, (503) 233-0743

Might be the weirdest bar in Portland. Cash only, but worth the experience.

For all the days along the way
