Eastern Market
One of our favorite spots in the city. At the heart of Eastern Market is a six-block public market that has been feeding Detroit since 1891. Every Saturday it is transformed into a vibrant marketplace with hundreds of open-air stalls where everyone can enjoy great selections of fruits, veggies, fresh-cut flowers, homemade jams, maple syrups, locally produced specialty food products, pasture and/or grass-fed meat, etc.
Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory
Walking distance from the wedding venue and free! The Belle Isle Conservancy is super family friendly, opened in 1904, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory is the oldest continually-running conservatory in the United States offering hundreds of different plant species.
Cafe D'Mongos Speakeasy
(Hint: we may end up here after the reception!) Only open Friday & Saturday evenings, there’s truly nothing else like it in Detroit. Café d'Mongo's Speakeasy has carved a niche for itself as both a beloved downtown Detroit hotspot and — like its speakeasy name suggests — a bit of a secret. The mix of accessibility and off-the-beaten-path appeal offers an authentic experience with each drink served. (Jimmy's favorite bar in the city!)
Motown Museum
This old Detroit home belies the greatness that was born here: the Motown Sound. But one step inside Hitsville, USA, the original house where Berry Gordy lived and recorded the Motown hits, and you'll catch the beat and spirit of this booming music era.

The Henry Ford Museum
Trace the history of the auto and our fascination with it along with other American inventions through the staggering collection of Henry Fords estate, which includes such memorabilia as the chair Abraham Lincoln sat in when he was assassinated and the limo in which John F. Kennedy was shot.
