We met while working together in Colorado. Different circumstance separated us for some time but then when we were working together again, it was history from there.
Poor Jerod went through a lot to be able to propose....everything seemed to be in his way. He had ordered the ring before COVID-19 and had planned to propose during a trip we had planned to Duluth. Well welcome 2020. Because of COVID-19, the company who was making the ring had to shut down production and was not able to make the ring that Jerod had ordered in time for him to propose during our trip. However, the company was very good and was able to work out some things to where Jerod was able to get very identical ring in time. Unfortunately because of COVID-19 we also canceled out trip to Duluth. We still had the time off so we decided instead to stay home and take the dog on a small hike one of the days that we had off. The odds were just against poor Jerod and it snowed and was cold most of the days that we had off together. I believe it was the last day of our "vacation" and it was warm enough to be outside and Jerod basically said we are going on hike with the dogs whether you like it or not. I had no problems with that and away we went with all 3 dogs in tow. We went to Barn Bluff trail in Red Wing, MN and were enjoying our nice hike. We found this really cool looking tree off to the side of the trail and we were talking about it and how cool it was. I was very focused on how someone had written something on the tree and then suddenly Jerod was down on one knee. Jerod then proposed and the first thing I said in typical Katie fashion was "Really? Are you serious?"
