Here are some of our favorite places throughout Marin.
Dipsea & Steep Ravine Hike

Dipsea & Steep Ravine Hike

One of Katie's favorite hikes in Marin. You can walk to the trailhead if you're staying in Stinson Beach. As the name of the hike implies, it's challenging!

Heidrun Meadery

Heidrun Meadery

11925 California 1, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956
, (415) 663-9122

We love it here. The world's only champagne-style honey wine. Try a tasting flight!

Mountain Home Inn

Mountain Home Inn

810 Panoramic Highway, Mill Valley, CA 94941
, (415) 381-9000

A great place for a drink, french fries, and a panoramic view across to the East Bay.

Muir Woods

Muir Woods

Muir Woods National Monument, Mill Valley, CA 94941
, (415) 561-2850

Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! Accessible for all ages and abilities.

Red Rock Beach (aka Mickey's)

Red Rock Beach (aka Mickey's)

3327 Shoreline Hwy, Stinson Beach, CA 94970

Awesome beach with "alternative" activities that include sport climbing, bouldering, skinny dipping, and even a nearby hot spring that can be accessed on very low tides. Park at the Red Rock Hotsprings and take the clearly marked trail down to the beach about 1/4 of mile down a steepish hill.

Bolinas

Bolinas

80 Brighton Ave, Bolinas, CA 94924

Charming town near Stinson--with a fun historical rivalry (see Bolinas-Stinson 4th of July Tug-o-war). A couple fun surf spots for longboarding and occasionally shortboarding too, live music at Smiley's Saloon, and some fun little restaurants.

Mount Tamalpais Peak

Mount Tamalpais Peak

Old Railroad Grade Trail, Mill Valley, CA 94941
, (415) 388-2070

There are lots of trails, scenic drives, and destinations to explore on Mt. Tam. The East Peak has a parking lot nearby with a moderate 1/2 mile hike to the peak for a great view of the Bay.

Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore

1 Bear Valley Visitor Center Access Road, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956
, (415) 464-5137

A beautiful, wild peninsula. Some favorite spots are the Tomales Point Hike (long), Limantour Beach (short hike), North Beach (parking lot on beach dunes), and the lighthouse. If you are in this area, you can also check out the small town of Inverness.

For all the days along the way
