Hayden and I met in February of 2019 after two of our common friends suggested to Hayden that he ask me on a date, a blind date at that ... Though we have many mutual friends, went to the same college (a few years apart) and grew up 20 miles from each other I had no clue who "Hayden Cooper" was nor did he know who I was. Hayden grew up in Shidler, OK and I grew up in Ponca City, OK, where his family did their grocery shopping and on their way into town each time, drove right by the house I called Home. Ironic? For our first date, we went to Palomino's in Stillwater and then met up with a few friends afterward (because that's an easy escape if things go south, right?)... Dinner was great, we chatted about the many interests we had in common, where we grew up, our families, etc. He asked about my caribou hunt, and I asked him how he knew about my caribou hunt from 4 years ago... (he had clearly pre-screened my facebook, haha). The commonalities we share add so much fun to our relationship and has helped us make so many memories from sitting in tree stands 300 yds apart, to hiking in the rockies, and fly fishing the Madison River. Hayden is a thinker, a gentle spirit, slow to speak, but the goofiest man I have ever been around. He loves like crazy, and believe it or not, through marriage counseling, we have found he is the 'romantic' of the two of us. I like to think he was the calm to my raging seas, or "is". I have watched Hayden become the God-fearing leader of our family and I am so honored that God chose me to be his counterpart. Hattie Grace (my 3yr old) has had him wrapped around her finger from the get-go, and here recently, she's been wrapped around his. I am so so so so grateful.
