SWIM SUITS & BEACH ATTIRE: Your day will mostly consist of pool time, relaxing, beach time, ocean time, more relaxing, and all in your swimsuit. During the evening there will be resort activities & shows (if you're alive). *TIP: PACK YOUR SWIMSUIT IN YOUR CARRY-ON BAG IN CASE YOUR ROOM ISN’T READY WHEN YOU ARRIVE!* WEDDING Semi-formal, “beach chic” DINNER DRESS CODE "Casual elegance" FOR MEN; long pants and collared shirts are required for most resort restaurants (t-shirts, tank tops or shorts are not permitted). The resort's site does have a facts sheet for additional restaurant attire. FOR LADIES: as long as we look good, they'll let us in; I usually pack a lot of nice sundresses, they're most comfortable after a day in the sun!
Your airport transfer information will be listed on your “Customer Reservation Summary” provided by Destination Weddings. Here it will list the name of the Concierge that the travel agent has booked for you. Arrival: Pass through Mexican immigration. Pick up your luggage and clear customs. After clearing customs you will exit to a hall through sliding doors, where you will find different booths of rental cars etc. Do not stop here! Walk all the way to the main sliding door, where you will be greeted by Concierge Representatives. In your Customer Reservation Summary, you will be informed of what company will welcome you. In most cases it will be through Destination Weddings who will greet you with a Destination Weddings sign, and take you to your transportation. IMPORTANT: DO NOT FORGET TO GRAB A MARGARITA ROADIE FROM THE MARGARITA STAND TO THE RIGHT WHEN YOU WALK OUTSIDE, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU FORGET!
Customs: After you have your bags, you have one last step before clearing customs and beginning your vacation! You are going to go through a line and when it is your turn, you have to press a button, if you are randomly selected, customs will make you open your luggage and go through all your items together.
1. Multiple Immigration Form (FMM): https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html Fill this out online up to 28 days before you arrive. They will give you a portion of the form back. Put it with your passport, as you will need to give it back when leaving Mexico. If you lose it, there is a fine. 2. Mexico Tourism Tax: This is a new tax that started about a year ago. We have NEVER paid this before and have been to Mexico a lot- however there is a small chance you might need to pay at the airport on departure. Health Form: https://www.vuelaseguro.com/login Fill this out before you leave for the airport and screenshot your QR code. The Cancun airport wi-fi is spotty, so don’t chance it there. Available 72 hours before travel. 3. Negative COVID Test: At check-in, you will schedule your free COVID test. Testing will be in Building 1 (see resort map). Bring your passport and vaccination card (if applicable). It will take about 10 minutes and your results will be emailed to you. Must be completed within 1 day of your departure time.
Return: Arrangements will be made with a representative within 24 hours of your initial arrival. Your pick-up will be 3.5-5 hours prior to your scheduled flight time (up to 2 hours transfer from Hotel to Airport + 3 hours in Airport to check-in, process through security and reach your gate). For departure, the representative will meet you in the hotel lobby. If you have any schedule changes with your flights prior to departure, you will need to notify your representative to amend your pickup time by calling them directly at least 24 hours prior to departure. David will provide you with all this information on your Reservation Summary.
1. Mobile Passport – On your flight home, you can use this app to fill in your passport info and customs questions (the paid version will store your passport info, so you don’t have to enter it each time). Select your arrival airport, take a selfie, and answer a series of questions. It will give you a QR code that will be valid for 4 hours. Take that and your passport to the express line labeled “MPC” or “Mobile Passport Control”. A CBP officer will scan you code and you should be good to go! 2. VeriFLY – A secure health passport app that makes it easier to manage your required travel tasks. Upload negative COVID-19 test results and forms to get verified status for travel. From there you can get your boarding pass online and streamline airport check-in. Recommended by American Airlines. Check your airline to see if they recommend something else. 3. The Excellence Collection – A great resource to view the Restaurants open hours, entertainment schedules, menus, dress codes, hours, spa menus, daily activities, and yes, a pillow menu! When you put your name down for dinner for a "reservation" the app will send you a push notification that your table is ready! 4. WhatsApp/Facebook – This is a free WI-FI text messaging service. Once you board the plane, turn your phone to WI-FI only (turn off cellular so you won’t incur cellular roaming charges). The resort has free Wi-fi everywhere and with this app you can Call/text for free over the resort WI-FI.
*Don't forget to pack your swimsuit and pool items in a carry-on bag! If you arrive to the resort early, chances are your room won't be ready and you can start taking advantage of the resort ASAP! The hotel will let you know when your room is ready and will move your bags there *In your room, you have 4 full sized bottles of wine/liquor- these are located in the cabinet above the mini fridge- these are free for you AND they will be replaced DAILYif you wish. You may also request specific bottles *When ordering a drink, specify the brand of alcohol you want – also check the app for different drinks from different bars at the resort- almost every bar can make every drink *When checking in, if you have a preferred time for housekeeping and turn down service, let them know and they will note it. We usually say between 10-12 for housekeeping and 7:30-9 for turn-down. This way if we want to come back to the room and chill, it is already done *10% off spa services if you book before you arrive. You can find the spa menu on the finest website or email them - onespa@finestresorts.com *There is a service box in your closet for room service meals that can be accessed from the hallway. You can set up a standing order of coffee, croissants, fruit, etc. to be delivered at a certain time every morning. They will deliver it without disturbing you & you can grab it when you’re ready. *Lock everything in the safe in your closet. Money, passports, sunglasses etc. *Dress Code: Two of the restaurants, Le Petit Plaisir and Dommo require pants & closed toe shoes for men. All other restaurants require polos and elegant sandals. No tee shirts or tank tops are allowed. *Call your Credit Card company to let them know you're traveling so they don't freeze your card!
