They first met at Wesley Theological Seminary in the 3rd floor lounge for a brief moment. A few nights later he would catch her eye at a game night when he walked in with his guitar. She then proceeded to try to kill him with her birthday cupcakes (which had almond extract in them - he is allergic to nuts, oops). It was clearly the start of something beautiful.

They took a long weekend away in Luray, VA. He planned everything, very unusual for her to not be involved in the planning. She was told to bring an outfit she wanted pictures taken in (suspicious...). The first day they were there he told her to wear the outfit she wanted pictures taken in. They left the cabin around 10 am to get breakfast in downtown Luray. He forgot his jacket - which held a very key ingredient for the day so they had to turn around. They had breakfast at a nice cafe but he kept getting texts and calls, little did she know, he was planning a BIG surprise. They then proceeded to go into every single one of the shops in the little town of Luray, all the while she was wondering when it was coming. Unbeknownst her, her best friend's flight had been delayed by 4 hours. Finally he said, "Okay, lets head out." They drove into Shenandoah National Park, coming up on the Hazel Mountain overlook, they turned in. She saw the cars of his sister, Sarah, her brother, Ryan, and his wife, Megan. She started to cry. This was it. He had surprised her with their family, Ryan & Megan, Sarah & Michael, and Alison & Liam. They found a perfect spot on the rocks, overlooking the stunning Shenandoah Valley and mountains, and he got down on one knee. He asked her to marry him, through tears of joy, she said, "of course!"
