Our story began in January 2018 in an unassuming place that would forever mean everything: a pool hall called Doctor Proctor’s. Erik had just moved back to Colorado from California and had settled into a familiar routine—Sunday night football at his favorite local watering hole. Katie, new to Denver by only six months, walked in that night with no interest in pool but a deep love for football. Somewhere between the clink of glasses and the glow of the TV screens, a conversation sparked—and with it, something undeniable. From that night on, we stayed in touch, quickly turning weekly dates into something neither of us could imagine living without. We bonded over our shared passions—traveling, sports, and nostalgic emo throwbacks that still find their way into our playlists today. What started as easy companionship grew into something steady, grounding, and full of laughter. Over the next three years, we grew together—building our careers, creating lifelong friendships, and exploring the world side by side. In early 2021, we moved in together, already knowing that forever wasn’t a question, but a promise. Life has brought us immense joy and profound loss. We said goodbye to our sweet Lily girl, whose love left an indelible mark on our hearts. We bought our first home, traveled even more of the world, and opened our hearts to rescue work—fostering and saving a dozen puppies along the way. Eventually, one special pup made it official, and Juniper became part of our family. Through it all—the adventures, the heartbreaks, and the growth—we have chosen each other every single day. We are endlessly grateful for the love, support, and community that surrounds us, and we are so excited to finally begin this next chapter. We feel incredibly blessed to tie the knot and celebrate the rest of forever with our friends and family—exactly where we belong.
