We're Getting Married!

We first met over ten years ago when (our now mutual friend) Amy and Katie, had a training class together at the CHP academy in West Sacramento. Amy went around and invited everyone in the class to meet up for dinner one night after class at Pizza Rock downtown Sacramento. Katie lived in the area then and told Amy she'd be down to go. Amy's co-worker Eric was also going to join us for dinner as well. It ended up just being Amy, Katie, and Eric for dinner (well until the one awkward guy in class showed up at the end of dinner). Katie instantly thought Eric was attractive and spent the rest of the night trying to play it cool; even letting on she likes metal music...a bit more than may have been truthful haha. Katie texted her new friend Amy that her co-worker Eric was cute, and Eric asked Amy for Katie's number. We planned a date and had a great evening hanging out and laughing a lot! At the time Eric lived in Yuba City and worked in Chico, and Katie worked and lived in Sacramento. We both worked a lot of hours and didn't really have the time for a long distance relationship, so we maintained our friendship for the next several years. We eventually ended up working in the same communications center together after Eric encouraged Katie to apply with him to work at the Capitol. There our friendship continued to grow; and then 2020 happened. Eric had recently purchased his home, and I was newly living on my own. When COVID hit we were both furloughed and short on funds. Eric had an extra room, and Katie needed to downsize. In September of 2020 Katie and Stella moved into Eric's house and claimed his spare room. We lived great as roommates for a couple months before we realized there may be more to our relationship than just friendship. Now 4 years later and an additional fur baby Murphy, we are excited to finally become an official family!
