It’s happening!

We first met in class during Della's first semester at UMD, but our friendship didn't take off until later that year during UMD Theatre's production of "These Shining Lives" by Melanie Marnich. Katie was the Dramaturg, and Della was the Assistant Stage Manager, which meant a lot of late night rehearsals and long days hanging out with our friend Belle (then Stage Manager, now Bridesmaid). It was Belle who finally pushed us together, starting a string of "it feels like a date, but does she think it's a date" dates, before Katie finally owned up to having a crush on Della. We have always been terrible at keeping secrets from one another, so the proposal was no big surprise. After several days of asking Katie to dress nice and go out on small dates, Della popped the question at one of our favorite places, Brighton Beach. The ring Katie had bought for Della was tucked safely in a backpack, and so we both got to ask 'the big question', and we both got to say "Yes!!" one right after another. Our friend Cally was there snapping photos, as were our friends Jessie and Ben. We opened a bottle of Katie's favorite wine and celebrated while taking pics, before hustling our butts back to the car– Minnesota is cold in December!
