Our love story began senior year of highschool, back in 2012. Collin was in shop class wrenchin, when Katie and her bestie, Maddie Carey biked by during gym class. Katie’s bike tire was flat so they decided to go bug all the boys in shop class for help. As Collin filled her tire, sparks flew, and he knew he had to ask her out. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged for a few weeks when finally at Maciej’s Prom after party, Collin and Katie discovered their mutual love for beer pong and the rest is history! This was the start of Col & Kate.
After highschool Collin went to Bemidji Tech School and Katie to Bemidji State. Both were assigned the same dorm building, OAK 3A, along with 5 more Forest Lake friends. We were the Flakers of Bemidj. College parties, Tom’s omelets, false fire alarms & new lifelong friends. Needless to say, freshmen year was one for the books! The following years in Bemidji, Col and Kate lived off campus about 5 blocks from eachother. The years flew by and even more unforgettable memories were made. Fake IDs, annual Spring Fest partys, Eelpout, and of course well-deserved diplomas. Collin graduated in 2014 and moved back to Flake to start his career at Jaguar Landrover. Then came the year of long distance. Collin made many, MANY trips to bemidji and Katie ended up calling Collin probably more times than he wanted.
In 2015 Katie graduated and moved back home to start her career at Ergodyne. That same year Collin bought his first home, the 10920 residence in Blaine. Katie eventually moved in, and replaced his roomies, Wes and Shannon with 2 furry friends, Benjamin (our kitty) and Rory (our pup). They lived in Blaine for several years, threw a couple parties and enjoyed the short jaunt to Cub Foods. But decided it was time to find a house that didn’t look directly into Lary’s kitchen as you poured your morning cup of joe. 2019 was the big year. Col and Kate found their forever home in Scandia, MN, featuring a beautful view, no neighbors and plenty of space to host pool parties. April of 2019, Col and Kate ventured out to CA and Vegas for a friends trip. On the last day of vacation he finally popped the question on the beaches of California and Katie said yes. We can’t wait for this exciting new chapter to begin, and to share this special day with all our favorite people!
