We would tell you the story on how we met but it’s rather short. We me each other at a random Bible study. There’s really nothing more to it than that. What we will tell you all is the events leading up until now. Shortly after we met, we went on our very first date in scissortail park. Where we talked for hours and entertained sweet Charles (our weenie baby). That’s something we adore about our relationship- we never run out of things to talk about. If you ask me (Katie) my Favorite memory of our first date, I’d have to say it’s when we decided to let Charlie off his leash. He had never ran away from me while walking in public so I figured it would be a good idea to let him feel a little more free. BOY was that a TERRIBLE idea. Charlie saw his opportunity and he took it. He ran up the hill, around some trees and picked up a goose poop somewhere along the way. This is where Charlie’s favorite game began (chase). Fast forward to the day our relationship “leveled up”- Cody had been acting like a little weirdo all day. We planned to go have volcano sushi and head off to scissor tail park (the first date spot). Sadly, it began pouring rain so we decided to just get sushi and head home (Oh yeah, did I mention we bought a house?). As soon as we got home from eating our weight in sushi, I decided to immediately throw some pajamas on, ignoring Cody’s call from the living room ( of course). After putting on my jams, I went out into the living room where Cody met me with something sappy about how far we have come from first date to present. Come to think about it, that was actually pretty sweet and I feel a little bad for complaining about how cold it was in the house. I plopped down on the couch, shivering in the tundra we call home and that is when Cody proceeded to pull the sweetest ring out of his linty pocket and ask me to marry him. I’m pretty sure I told him to shut up a couple times because I thought he might be kidding. I don’t know. We hugged and cherished the sweet moment together just for a little while before deciding I should probably put on something nicer than my pajamas to tell everyone we had gotten engaged! Now, on November 11, 2023, we will say I do to a lifetime of never- ending conversations, games of chase with olive and Charles , and some unforgettable Ice cold memories we make in our current home and others to come.
