Trinity Lutheran Church will not be opening for the months of June and July. We will be moving the ceremony to Ojiketa. The ceremony will be taking place at Ojiketa outside of Strom Hall at 4pm.

We are still getting married!! 💕 Thank you for you patience as we attempt to navigate our wedding during this difficult time. Please always check here for up to date information. We will need to change attendance due to restrictions and may likely need to change time or location based on the situation at the time of the wedding. Please help us plan for attendance restrictions by submitting your RSVP by June 30th. We will then plan to communicate our final attendance plans by Monday July 6th. Please be sure to include an up to date email in your RSVP, we will plan to communicate our finalized attendance plans via email. Those who will not be able to attend with also have the option to participate virtually. You are all very important to us and we are grateful for all of your love and care regarding our wedding day.

How We Met: The story starts in August 2017 at the beautiful wedding of Katie's cousin Stefon marrying his wife Ellie at Ojiketa Regional Park. Katie was in attendance and Chris was working the event as the Community Service Officer for Lakes Area Police Department. It will be no surprise to those who know Katie’s mom Anna that she is responsible for their first conversation. The Boleen family heckled Officer Duncan the entire night, which is secretly how Katie knew she was interested. It takes a mountain of a man to handle all of them at one time. They went on their first date four days later and the relationship took off from there. Within the first month they had the opportunity to meet each other’s families. The entire Boleen family again heckled Chris during a BBQ for Katie’s cousins visiting from Oregon. Katie attended her first Minnesota Vikings game with the Duncan Family on the first day of meeting them! Over their three years together they have been able enjoy many new adventures as well as share their passions and hobbies. Chris quickly fell in love with Katie’s first dog Jameson and the couple got their second dog Jack in 2018. The Proposal: The couple both enjoy to golf and love to share that time together each summer. Chris surprised Katie with the best round of golf she will ever have on September 15th, 2019. They were golfing at Chisago Lakes golf course with Katie’s parents along with Rick and Carter Duncan playing & planning closely ahead. Hole number nine approached and Katie was up to putt when she found another persons golf ball left in the hole. Engraved on the ball were the words "Katie will you marry me- Chris". Katie found Chris behind her on one knee and more family hiding in the bushes where Chris' mom caught it all on camera. It was a magical moment that they will remember forever.
