During the summer of 2022, Katie and Chad both found themselves single, so Chad took this opportunity to reach out to mutual friends to ask if they knew any single ladies. Their friends told Chad about their lovely single friend, so Chad did what any single millennial man would do and decided to reach out to Katie via Instagram. Then Katie decided to do what any single millennial woman would do and did not reply to his message. A few weeks go by and Chad, being the persistent man he is, decided to not take no for an answer. Chad logged back on to Instagram and saw that he and Katie had one mutual friend, and this one mutual friend happened to be his sister-in-law, Allison. Chad saw Allison a few days later and said, “Hey, how do you know this Katie Murray girl?” Luckily for Chad, Allison’s family and Katie’s family have been good friends for years, so Allison said she would do her best to put in a good word. A week later, Allison saw Katie’s mom at a birthday party and did in fact put in a good word for her brother-in-law, Chad. A few days later, Katie was complaining to her mom, Becky, about being a single gal, and that reminded Becky about the conversation she had recently with Allison. Becky said, “You can’t complain about being single if you aren’t going to do anything about it!” And that prompted Katie to finally reply to Chad’s message. A week later, they had their first date over some food and drinks. Katie was worried they would run out of things to talk about, but they hit it off right away and ended up talking non-stop for over 5 hours. They both knew pretty early on that they had a special connection and wanted to be around each other all the time. Two years later, they have shared many laughs, made countless memories and stuck together through the highs and lows of being a Buffalo Bills fan. Oh, and they still haven’t run out of things to talk about.
