After we got engaged on April 10th, we starting planning a wedding for September 4th, but we quickly realized that a big wedding just wasn't for us. We also realized that having a small wedding meant that we got to get married sooner. So, we decided to have a wedding with just our immediate family members (14 people to be exact) on June 12th. All 14 of us went to Boone, NC for the weekend and we got to hold the ceremony in the same place where we got engaged. It was a perfect ceremony - even with a little rain. We went on our honeymoon to St. John, USVI right after, and now we are settled into our new apartment in Charlotte, NC. We are so thankful for the opportunity to do the ceremony how we wanted to, but we are looking forward to getting to celebrate with our friends and family in September! While we wish we could see everyone, we completely understand that it is a big commitment to come to Charlotte for Labor Day weekend, so we do not want anyone to feel pressured to book an expensive flight or give up other plans. This reception will be very laid back and we hope that by having it earlier in the day, we will allow you to have more freedom with the rest of your weekend plans.
