Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Katie Hetrick and Brett Ostwalt
We know the wedding is the main event, but take some time to explore all that Charleston has to offer!

Eating, Drinking, Tourist-ing Downtown

There are thousands of great restaurants to choose from in Charleston, so please enjoy as many as you can! Some of our favorite casual spots: Lewis Barbecue, Edmund's Oast Restaurant, and Pink Bellies. For something a little fancier, we love Melfi's, The Ordinary, and Malagon. Make reservations! For libations, we love Babas on Meeting (we took our engagement pictures here!), Graft Wine Bar, Doar Bros., and Little Palm. If you are skipping the hard stuff, there are also some great coffee shops as well- Babas (yes, cocktails AND coffee!), Kudu, and The Daily to name a few. For sightseeing, we recommend exploring the city by foot! Explore the French Quarter neighborhood, stroll the Battery, or check out some amazing antique stores on King Street. Need a good park during the day? Travel a little north to Hampton Park for great walking paths and green space.

Beyond Downtown

There are 3 different beaches less than 20 minutes away from downtown Charleston - Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island, and Isle of Palms. Kiawah Island - our absolute favorite - is 45 minutes away, if you are down for an adventure. Less than 10 miles north of downtown, you'll find Park Circle (aka Brett and Katie's neighborhood!). There are numerous great restaurants and breweries available here. Holy City Brewing and EVO Pizzeria are our favorites.
