Friday Nights at the Oakland Museum
Friday Nights at OMCA with Off the Grid happens every Friday from 5-9pm. These free events include live music, hands-on activities, food trucks and an outdoor bar. There’s also late-night access to the galleries and special exhibitions with a museum ticket.
Lake Merritt
Walk around Lake Merritt to burn off some pandemic pounds or throw down a blanket for some beautiful bird and weird people watching.
Jack London Square

This is a great place for brunch. It's an upbeat, colorful patio hangout offering modern Mexican bites, margaritas, beer and agave.

Want to have a drink at the romantic bar, Dogwood, where we had our first date on November 12, 2015? Well, you can't, but you can grab a cocktail at the place where it once was at Stinkys, a creepy clown-themed bar which we admittedly haven't stepped foot into since the new concept was introduced.

Bar Shiru is the Bay Area's first Japanese-inspired "listening bar." Records are played in their entirety on an analog, vinyl-centric sound system in a space built with acoustics as a top priority.
