Our Story

We met in the summer of 2020 at a birthday party in Ann Arbor, Michigan — you know, the kind of party where you don’t expect to meet your forever person. But there she was: Katie, the most beautiful girl in the room. And there he was: Braedon, the second tallest guy there (a title he has fully embraced). The next day, Braedon confidently told his friends, “I’m going to marry that girl.” They laughed. He didn’t. There was just one small detail: Katie was leaving for college at Baylor... in a week. So, naturally, we made the most of our time. Our first date was that weekend at her mom’s house, complete with all the nervous energy and sweet anticipation you'd expect. Then she left for Texas, and Braedon — in classic rom-com fashion — booked a flight to Waco not long after. What started as a bold move quickly became the beginning of a long-distance rhythm we’d grow surprisingly good at (with a lot of plane tickets and FaceTime calls). We made our first road trip together count: driving Katie’s car from Waco back to Michigan the long way — a two-week scenic detour through national parks, mountains, and a lot of “Are we lost?” moments. That road trip set the tone for us: always up for an adventure, especially if it means doing it together. Over the years, we found love not just in the big, exciting moments — hiking Angel’s Landing, skiing in Chamonix, swimming on the Amalfi Coast, or cheering at the Ryder Cup — but also in the commitment it took to build a life across state lines. From Braedon visiting Baylor as often as possible, to countless airport reunions and goodbyes, we made it work — and somehow made it fun. In July 2024, Braedon moved to Dallas on a hopeful hunch that Katie might be placed there for her clinical year. And by the grace of God, she was. Just weeks later, while she was apartment-hunting for her big move, Braedon proposed at Klyde Warren Park — in the heart of the city that would soon be home for both of us. It was August 23rd, 2024 — a day we'll never forget. Now, we’re saying “yes” to forever, surrounded by the people who’ve cheered us on, supported us, and laughed with us along the way. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
