Maid of Honor
I am very grateful to have Krista as my sister and to have her by my side as my maid of honor. She has been there for me during my entire transition into adulthood. With late night phone calls, offering her apartment to me when I am in CT, cooking me dinner, she always makes time and space for me. Krista has been supportive of my relationship with Brad since day one and has taken time to know him (even though he’s a Virgo). A special memory: We had decided to wake up at 3 am and go to the Parthenon Diner. I don’t remember why we were doing it but I don’t think we needed a reason. I woke up, got dressed, and her Yaris was waiting in the driveway. As we were headed to the diner she pointed to the back seat and said something like “don’t mind my friend Klaus.” I looked back and I don’t know what I was expecting, but it was not a full sized halloween skeleton. I am pretty sure I screamed and then started to laugh/cry. I know she was concerned that it ruined the diner date. When I think about that memory it brings nothing but joy and laughter. It is one of my favorite memories of all time. Message from Krista: Katie, growing up with you has been incredible. From our days of arguing as little kids over sharing a room to growing up and becoming best friends, I am honored and cannot wait to stand beside you on your big day!

We met in college at MCPHS mailroom. While we drifted apart for a short time while I was recovering from my concussions, we have that friendship where as soon as we got back in touch, our bond was as strong as ever. We discovered we lived 30 minutes from each other. Since moving, Julia has come to visit and has sent me many care packages. I love her for many reasons; her kindness being only one of them. She really helps me come out of my shell and always proves that she loves me for me. A special memory: A few of my favorite memories with Julia were going out to eat in Salem together. She knows a lot of amazing spots and her conversations always make me very happy. She has a lot of knowledge and interesting opinions. Many of my favorite memories with Julia involve doing everyday things together. Like when I told her I had been holding off going to the bank to set up an account and her response was just “okay, let’s go”. From Dunkin runs to everyday chores, Julia is a fun person to adventure with. Message from Julia: Congratulations, Brad and Katie! Love you both and Parm so much. I am thrilled to be part of your special day.

Sara and I met in middle school when we were paired together in class. She was always inviting me along on different trips and activities and her Mom was always very kind to offer rides. After helping each other survive middle and high school, we stayed friends and continued to experience adulthood alongside each other. Sara is very important to me because she understands me in many ways. She is a safe space for me. She doesn’t tolerate when others are being unkind, especially to her friends. I love playing video games with her and watching movies. The conversations we get into are funny and thought provoking. We’ve stood together through a lot of big life events and I am excited to have her with me on my wedding day. A special memory: In High School, we would walk around the woods of the condos together. Once I could drive, I would pick her up and we would walk around the shops on Universal drive. Sometimes we would go to a state park and enjoy the day. We went to the Avril Lavigne concert together and my first trip to New York was with her. I think one of my favorites was when Sara, Brad, and I went kayaking together. I remember her and I worked together to set up inflatable kayaks and we helped each other get in. (Only do this with someone you trust). We talked, listened to music, took pictures, and did our best to not flip the kayak (Brad was the third wheel that day). Her contact picture in my phone is from that day.

Marisa and I met while working at Dunkin. Even back then before we really knew each other, she came to rescue me when I was having low blood sugar at work. “Start drinking the swirls” is what she said. After leaving Dunkin, we stayed close friends. Marisa has been there for me through many of difficult times. I love that we are always there for each other when the other needs support. We find ways of making each other laugh when we feel like crying. Marisa has been very kind to offer help with the wedding, even before I surprised her by asking to be a bridesmaid. A special Memory: On my 21st birthday, Brad had to leave to go back to school. That was really hard for me. Brad knew that and asked Marisa if she would make sure I was okay. Marisa and the gang took me out to dinner and bought me my first drink. We laughed, shared stories, and ate great food. As soon as she heard I needed a little cheering up she was there and ready to go above and beyond for me.

Gianna is very special to me. I met her when I worked with her Mom, Marisa at Dunkin. She was the only kid I knew who enjoyed sweeping and mopping (and knew how to do it better than me). Getting to see Gianna grow has been a joy. I love watching the videos of her dancing that her Mom sends and hearing about all the amazing things she has accomplished. Brad and I know she will continue to do amazing things and we will always be there to support her. She has a very kind heart. A special memory: While Brad was home from college one break. I was getting my hair done and asked him to hold onto my money that was for the hair dresser. Brad proceeded to give G the money and she took it. I did get it back but it was a funny moment where we got to see Brad warm up to G. I believe after that we went to Subway for lunch where we got a great photo of G wearing Brad's hat and him wearing her headband.
