We first met in our undergraduate program at Michigan State University in our Minerology lab. Our paths had crossed a few more times, but just as acquaintances. After graduation we reconnected during an MSU football game. For our first date we met up for a quick cup of coffee, but time flew by, and that quick cup of coffee lasted 4 hours.

Our engagement began in front of the city fountain on a chilly December night in Marshall, celebrating after with close family and friends. Later that weekend we continued our celebration in downtown Detroit, where we attended a Pistons game, a Redwings game, and a Lions game.

We were legally married in our socks and slippers at our home in Marshall before Bo was deployed. We kept it small, with just our parents and our dogs as witnesses, already planning for our celebration at Lovett Hall in 2024. For our “honeymoon,” we went on a road trip out west, visiting family and friends along the way.
