Growing up, I remember Katie and I really loved the song “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, especially scream-singing “home is wherever I’m with you”. It rang true for us, but I found this quote that makes more sense for this occasion: "Home is not where you are from, it is where you belong. Some of us travel the whole world to find it. Others, find it in a person." I’m so glad Katie found home in you, Ben. You’re the perfect match. I love you both so much!

What a pleasure it has been to watch your love story unfold from the very beginning. From college crushes to long-distance friends, to taking big leaps for one another; moving in together; storybook Parisian engagement, and now the most spectacular wedding weekend imaginable. It's tough to know what to say when we're standing in awe of the two of you. The way you consistently show up for one another, doing whatever is in your power to help and comfort the other. The love that is so clearly there and abundant between the two of you; it truly is a love story for the ages.

Ben has always been the wildcard, you never knew where he’s going next, but he’s sure to fit in. So much so, that when he quietly announced he was moving to Maine several years ago, we all thought “yep, sounds about right”. I’m so happy that the wildcard has met his match, his queen if you will, which has brought us all here today. Katie, you are an incredible woman, and I could not have picked a better partner for Ben. You bring out the best in our friend, and you are a fantastic addition to our “family”.

I met Katie through our sorority Pi Beta Phi... and we have bonded in a way that she has become my family. Since Ben has joined our little family it feels like you two are a piece of me now, like our lives have weaved together in a way that I don’t know what it was like to not have you in my life. Even walking through the airport on my way to the wedding I was thinking about how natural this felt. How when they asked me to join them for this weekend I had no questions, I was going to be there. And how rare it is to share bonds like this in our lifetime. I feel like I could go on forever like a broken record about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness and still feel like there wouldn’t be a way to totally explain how much you mean to me.
