FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 14, 2025.

Question

How can I RSVP?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP here on the website. You can do so by navigating to 'RSVP' in the menu at the top of the page. If you have any issues RSVP-ing on the website, please reach out to Katie or Ben.

Question

Is there a designated wedding hotel block?

Answer

Due to the rural nature of the area, we've decided not to designate a particular wedding hotel/hotel block. We recommend considering the wide variety of AirBnB and Vrbo rental options in the area. Links to several chain and local hotel options can be found in the 'Travel & Accomodations' section (see menu at the top of the page).

Question

How can I get to the venue?

Answer

The venue is in a rural area, so is most easily reached by car. The nearest train station (Poughkeepsie, NY --Metro North & Amtrak train services) is a 1 hour drive from the venue. If you wish to take a car service from your accommodations to/from the wedding venue, we recommend We Care Taxi (845-794-5050) if Lyft or Uber options are sparse. There are a couple additional taxi service recommendations on the venue's website (see 'Where are the nearest taxi's?' section): https://akera.us/explore-akera/. Note, if you drive to the wedding venue, you will be able to leave your car and take a car service back to your hotel/rental at the end of the night if you prefer. Any cars left overnight will need to be picked up by 11am the following morning (Sunday the 20th).

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception be held?

Answer

All wedding events will all be held at AKERA: 2299 Ulster Heights Road, Woodbourne, NY, 12788. To see a map of the venue property, navigate to 'Venue Map' using the menu at the top of the page.

Question

Is there free parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is free parking at the venue. There will be a 3-5 minute walk from where you park to the wedding area. If you require special parking accommodations, please reach out to our wedding coordinator, Maya, at mayalekach@gmail.com at least one week ahead of the event. To see a map of the venue property, navigate to 'Venue Map' using the menu at the top of the page.

Question

When I arrive at the venue, how should I proceed?

Answer

When you reach the property, there will be ushers directing you to where you can park and then walk over to the wedding area (3-5 minute walk). Once you reach the wedding area, there will be a welcome space offering water and other refreshments. You can then proceed to the ceremony area near the large white outdoor sculpture. To see a map of the venue property, navigate to 'Venue Map' in the menu at the top of the page.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We plan to hold the wedding ceremony outside, weather-permitting. Cocktails, dinner, and reception will he held in the Dome (indoor space with air-conditioning, etc). If the weather is good, we also plan to set up a few firepit spaces in the area around the Dome in the evening.

Question

Will there be a shuttle service to/from the venue?

Answer

Because we are not organizing a designated hotel/hotel block, we will not be providing a shuttle service to/from the venue. You will be able to leave your car and take a car service back to your hotel/rental at the end of the night if you prefer; we recommend We Care Taxi (845-794-5050) if Lyft or Uber options are sparse. There are a couple additional taxi service recommendations on the venue's website (see 'Where are the nearest taxi's?' section): https://akera.us/explore-akera/. Any cars left overnight will need to be picked up by 11am the following morning (Sunday the 20th).

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. It's a summer wedding, so light fabrics and bright, fun colors are encouraged! :) The ceremony is planned to be outdoors in a grassy area. We recommend you plan your footwear accordingly.

Question

What type of food and beverages will be served throughout the day?

Answer

Water and other refreshments will be offered as you enter the event. After the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour featuring an open bar and a variety of passed and stationary hors'devours. Dinner will be served buffet-style. We will have several protein selections (including vegetarian-friendly) for mains, as well as several starch, vegetable, and fruit selections for sides. Fresh bread and butter will also be available at the table. Dessert of cake and cookies with coffee and tea in the evening. Open bar from 5-9pm. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of, please contact our wedding coordinator, Maya, at mayalekach@gmail.com at least one week before the event so that we can accommodate you.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

We've chosen not to create a registry. We do however, have a Honeymoon Fund! If you would like to contribute to our Honeymoon Fund, please see the 'Honeymoon Fund' section of the website (see the menu at the top of the page).

Question

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 1016 Decatur Street, Apt B, Brooklyn, NY 11207. If you are mailing a gift, kindly let us know when it will be arriving so that we can make sure someone is home to receive it. A wedding card box will be available at our reception.

Question

What time should I plan to arrive at the wedding?

Answer

We recommend you aim to arrive between 3:30-3:45pm. The ceremony starts at 4pm, and this will give you enough time to park, find the welcome area, mingle, and settle in ahead of the ceremony.

Question

What is the schedule/itinerary for the event?

Answer

To see the full schedule/itinerary, please navigate to the 'Schedule' section of the website (see the menu at the top of the page).

Question

Will there be an after party?

Answer

The after party will be at the venue. We have the space through midday Sunday, so guests are welcome to stay as late as the party goes :)

Question

Are there any activities/experiences we should check out in the local area?

Answer

More on this can be found in the 'Things To-Do' section, which you can navigate to from the menu at the top of the page.

Question

I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

Answer

Please feel free to reach out to Ben or Katie.
