Flight
Dear Guests, Since I have the fortunate (or unfortunate) distinction of being in the top 10% of all travelers out of the Greenville-Spartanburg airport in 2025, I figured I'd put together some advice on how to get here. You have three airport options. Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) – About 20 mins from downtown A pleasant, easy airport. Close enough to downtown that you can Uber or Lyft without renting a car. Direct flights to Denver (United), Newark (United), Washington DC (Reagan via American, Dulles via United), and Miami (American), among others. If you can find a direct flight here and the price isn't too steep, this is a good way to go. Charlotte (CLT) – About 2 hours from Greenville Major hub with direct flights from almost everywhere, and flights tend to be cheaper. The airport is on the southwest side of the city, so not too much traffic getting out. That said, I-85 between Charlotte and Greenville is under construction, so the drive may or may not be pleasant. You will need to rent a car. Atlanta (ATL) – About 2.5 hours, depending on traffic Another major hub with direct flights from just about everywhere and often the cheapest fares. Depending on when you land, you might hit substantial traffic getting through Atlanta. Once past the beltway though, it's a pleasant drive with lakes and a nice introduction to the Upstate. You will need to rent a car. Where You're Coming From From California: CLT (American) or ATL (Delta/Frontier). I prefer CLT via American. You can also connect through Denver on United into GSP. From NJ/NYC: The Newark direct to GSP on United is hard to beat. There are also reasonable connections to GSP through Charlotte. In a group: CLT or ATL will be cheaper, and you can split a rental car. Solo or as a couple: GSP is generally worth the higher fare. No car needed. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I sincerely appreciate you making the effort to travel for our wedding. – Ben
