We're getting married!

We met in 2018 when Katie was a sophomore at Medina High School and Austin was a freshman at Highland High School. We both attended a youth group at Grace Church in Medina. Katie made the first move. Austin walked by, and seeing that his shoe was untied, Katie kindly offered to tie it. They hit it off outside by the fire after that and become good friends. A year and a half later Austin asked Katie out over facetime and she says no. A couple of weeks go by and she changes her mind. The two sweethearts started dating in February 2020 and never looked back.

January 6 2023 Austin, Katie and her family helped Katie move into her apartment, beginning her time at BGSU. The move went smoothly. We unpacked and hung out with friends throughout the day. That night we turn on a movie to wind down and Austin asks Katie to pause it and close her eyes, saying that he has a surprise. When she opens her eyes Austin smiles, gets down on one knee, and asks Katie to marry him. She, of course, eagerly says yes.
