How It All Began Katie and Anthony would love to tell you they met through some romantic, modern twist of fate—but the truth is, this love story was carefully orchestrated by two very determined mothers. Katie had known Anthony’s mom her entire life (she’s been the family tailor for years), so when both moms realized their children were single, wonderful, and deeply tired of dating apps, they decided to take matters into their own hands. The plot officially thickened when Katie’s mom met Anthony at his mother’s tailor shop. Anthony noticed a woman staring at him with great intensity and—understandably—was very confused. Little did he know, he was being silently evaluated as “husband material.” After receiving Katie’s blessing, her mom passed along Katie’s number to Anthony’s mom, and soon after, Anthony sent that first brave text. Their first date took place in November 2023 at The Ginger Man in Las Colinas. What was supposed to be a casual meetup turned into a multiple-hour conversation filled with laughter, easy banter, and that unmistakable “this feels different” feeling. Naturally, after this great date… they didn’t talk for weeks. (Romance is mysterious like that.) Eventually, a second date happened—and that’s when Anthony knew. Katie was the one. It took a little more time (and football) for things to become official, but in January, while watching a Cowboys game at Katie’s townhouse, they officially started dating. True love, Texas-style. From there, life quickly filled with a variety of dates including mini golf, axe throwing, go carting, arcades, more Cowboys game watching, Broadway shows (for Katie), basketball games (for Anthony), meeting each other’s friends and families, and plenty of quality time with Katie’s beloved dog, Elphie—who made it clear early on that Anthony was acceptable. They built a relationship rooted in laughter, support, shared values, and the ability to enjoy each other’s interests (even when they don’t totally understand them). On July 5, 2025—the day before Katie’s birthday—Anthony pulled off the surprise of a lifetime. At the beautiful Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, he proposed with the most perfect sapphire ring, completely catching Katie off guard (a rare and impressive achievement). She said yes, of course, and the rest—as they say—is history. A story that began with two moms, a tailor shop, and a very confused groom has turned into a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership.
