What is the Reception Dress Code? What should I wear?
Answer
Semi-Formal: suits and cocktail dresses are welcome, in addition to slacks and a jacket or maxi dresses, jumpsuits and summer dresses. Plan to bring a rain jacket if rain is predicted in the forecast.

Where is the Reception Venue and How do I get there?
Answer
After our small ceremony, our reception will be taking place at Orca Point Lodge, located on Colt Island. Due to its remoteness, the lodge is only accessible by boat. A 140 passenger catamaran will be transporting all of our guests to and from the venue. The meeting location is at the top of the Auke Bay Statter Harbor ramp located at 11497 Harbor Dr, Auke Bay, AK 99821 (right next to the harbor office). The boat will depart the harbor at 5:00pm so please arrive early. If you are driving a vehicle to the harbor, paid parking is available for $5.

Can I bring a date/plus-one to the Reception?
Answer
Due to the boat capacity restrictions, we regret that we are unable to accommodate a plus one for all of our guests. If your invitation was extended to include a plus one, it will be noted under the RSVP section of our website. Simply type in your name and see if the option to add a guest appears. While we truly wish we could extend invitations to everyone, ensuring the safety of our guests is our top priority. Thank you for understanding.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
Children are indeed welcome to join us for the reception, however it is worth noting that our venue is situated on a small island that is only accessible by boat. Children attending the reception will need to stay for the entire duration, which will span for six hours. We have one boat available for transportation to/from the island, and it will be departing the venue at 10:20pm. If your little one isn't accustomed to late evenings, you may want to consider a sitter.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the reception venue?
Answer
Yes! We will have a shuttle available for those staying in a rental or hotel in a downtown location. The meeting location for the shuttle is Marine Park, 144 Marine Way, Juneau AK 99801 (look for the large bus staging lot next to the downtown library parking garage). The shuttle will depart at 4:00pm from downtown. Upon returning to Auke Bay Statter Harbor after the conclusion of the reception, the shuttle will be waiting at the top of the boat ramp at 11:00pm to bring guests back to town.

We hope to utilize the indoor space in addition to the outdoor deck space if the weather permits.

How long is the reception/ When does it end?
Answer
The total duration of the event will last from 5:00pm-11:00pm. This includes the 45-minute transportation time to/from the Orca Point Lodge, which is only accessible by boat. The reception will officially begin at 6:00pm, and our last song is scheduled for 10:00pm. The boat will depart the venue at 10:20pm.

What kind of weather can I expect?
Answer
Weather in July can be highly variable and prone to sudden changes, making it difficult to anticipate conditions for any given day. For instance, one day might see temperatures around 70 degrees with clear skies, whereas the following day could bring cooler temperatures of around 55 degrees accompanied by light rain. We suggest checking the forecast approximately three days prior to your arrival get a better understanding of what to expect. Generally speaking, temperatures will typically be in mid to high 60s. It's advisable to prepare for possible rain by bringing along a rain jacket or umbrella if there's precipitation in the forecast.
