Wedding Party

Meet the beautiful people that are a part of our special day.

Maria Vena

Maid of Honor

My little sister and The Precious Mia. We truly have that unbreakable sisterly bond (probably because I used to change her diapers). You can find us cuddled in her bed, stealing each others clothes, holding hands, or singing together. Mia is the funniest person I know, and I wanted no one else to stand next to me as I marry the love of my life.

Shaun Frederick

Best Man

Not only has he been the best of friends to me, he has always been an even better friend towards my future wife. Shaun has been there as a source of wisdom, advice, support, or a levelheaded guide to both of us ever since we met in college. After college, we never lived close together, but our friendship has continued to grow. We often say, "Wow, glad we are on the same page!" Some of the biggest decisions in my life have been made with his help and I am honored to have him stand up next to me on the best day of my life.

Gurleen Saini

Bridesmaid

I met Gurleen at WMU, where we were both in the flight program. Gurleen and I very quickly became best friends. She is fiercely loyal and there for me at any hour of the day. My favorite part of our friendship is when we send each other something funny, the other will respond with an audio clip of us laughing (cackling) to show the other just how hard we are laughing. We have been through a great amount of our adult life together, and she has been an integral part of my support system.

Chloe Verkerke

Bridesmaid

I have known Chloe since the fifth grade, when my family moved into a home just a few away from Chloe's family. We instantly became friends through a game of Mad Libs - laughing so hard we cried. Since then, we've had plenty of nights filled with tears from laughter. Although life has taken us far and close, I always know I have an amazing friend in Chloe. We have a friendship that never changes, no matter how much time passes between us. We've grown up together and what a joy it has been.

Maddie Ruth

Bridesmaid

I met Maddie at Paragon Flight School, where we both worked. The first day I met Maddie, she said to me, "Awh, I know we're going to be best friends." She wasn't wrong! Maddie is hands down the sweetest person I have ever met. She would do anything for her loved ones (or any animal) and I am lucky enough to be in that category (loved one). Even though we live over 1,000 miles away, we talk nearly everyday.

Tristan Mazzu

Bridesmaid

Tristan and I met three years ago, when we both got hired at the same airline. At SkyWest, they make you share a hotel room with someone for two months as you go through some pretty intense training. It's safe to say we would have either left best friends or NOT best friends. Lucky for us, I left with a new best friend. She is an amazing woman of God and I am lucky to have her in my life.

Trevor Mohnke

Groomsman

My little brother. He may be taller, but I still have rank over him! Trevor gets all of his style from me, specifically the haircut. Even though I do it better, it's always been a privelge of mine to be a role model for him during his. After all those years of trying to beat each other up, we turned out to be pretty good friends! He's also been a big supporter of Katie and I from the beginning. We are honored to have him as a part of our special day.

Alex Sollner

Groomsman

Is it Al or Alex? What does he really go by? Well it depends on how long you've known him. Alex was his preferred name in high school. Somehow, throughout our time at WMU, he had a name change to Al within our friend group. So I'm familiar with both of his identities! From struggling together in AP Calculus, and I mean REALLY struggling, we figured it would be a good idea to continue our study habits as roommates all through college. Al has been a great friend for a long time and our wedding day would not be complete without him in it.

Brandon Hazard

Groomsman

Brandon is another great friend from the college days. You can count on him to lighten the mood in any room. He can also tell a story in such a ridiculous way, with a deadpan face, that you curl over from laughing and forget what the story was even about. Brandon is also the big winner of our friend group as the first one to get hitched! Couldn't be happier to have this old, married man in our wedding.

Andrew Marvin

Groomsman

He is most commonly known by his last name Marvin, or simply just Marv. Being an airline pilot isn't his greatest accomplishment. His claim to fame is actually having a part in instructing Katie and I when we were student pilots. Even though it was very brief, we credit him with "teaching us everything we know about flying." That quote from him may or not be true but he is a dear friend so we'll just let him have it.
