Nick worked at Microsoft with Todd who invited him over to one of our Magic/card game parties at Ricky and Karla's apartment. He walked in and as Nick likes to say, "She was smitten." We were just friends though, and hung out whenever we had game nights, played baseball occasionally, Superbowl parties, and holidays like the 4th of July for about 4 years. Until we went on our first date swing dancing in February 2016, and then ended up officially dating in March.

Nick was house-sitting for his Aunt and Uncle, and he invited me over to watch a movie on their HUGE TV around 10:30 pm. Their back porch has a beautiful view that overlooks Bellevue and Seattle and Nick invited me to go look at it with him when I got there. We went out and looked out for a bit and then Nick said, "You should check out the view over here" pointing at the other end of the deck. I walked over, semi-confused because I didn't think you could really see any 'view' from that side of the deck, but I went anyways. I looked down and saw the glowing 'WILL YOU MARRY ME?' with candles. I turned around saying, "Really?!" to Nick getting down on one knee and saying, "yes really."
