Our Junior Year, second semester, we both had racket sports. We never crossed paths in that class until our gym teacher had us partner in the pickle ball section of the curriculum. Danny carried us to victory, while Katie was a giggling mess as we partnered up every so often for the rest of the year, still not exchanging phone numbers during our Junior Year.
Our senior year we both enrolled into Home education/Culinary class for our 7th Period. We only knew each other as classmates working in group projects together until Katie had an accident and flipped her car. Danny had offered to drive her home from that point on until she got a new vehicle. We would get lunch after school some times and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Katie had been dismissed 20 minutes early from her 6th period class. Little did she know that 10 minutes later going into her 7th period, Danny would be walking in the door with flowers, a teddy bear and a box of chocolates asking her to be her boyfriend.
Danny had been planning a vacation for us to San Diego, California to visit Sunset Cliffs. This hold’s a special place for his family as his grandmothers ashes were spread there. Upon arrival we walked down the cliffs and made it to where the waves met the rocky shores. Taking in the scenery Danny got on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. This was another chapter in our book with many more chapters and stories to come…
