Elk Mountain Resort
Elk Mountain Resort offers actives on-site. They have a spa, shooting range, tennis courts and more. Kids are also welcome to fish in the resort pond. Feel free to bring your ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes to explore the area. More info can be found on the resort website.
Scenic Drives
For those wanting to explore the area by car, there are many scenic drives and destinations. Our wedding weekend coincides with the Aspen tree leaves changing colors resulting in some beautiful scenery. We recommend exploring Telluride, driving the million dollar highway from Ouray to Silverton, or any of the many 4x4 trails in the area.
Perimeter Trail
This hike skirts around Ouray. It is a great option for those looking for an easier hike or for those looking for a good hike to do with kiddos. There are a lot of entrance and exit points. You'll get great views of Abrams, Twin Peaks and the town of Ouray.
Box Cañon Falls Park
This is a short walk to a waterfall - great for families!
Ouray Hot Springs Pool
For those that want to enjoy natural hot springs, this is the place! Great views of the mountains while the adults soak and the kids play.
Montrose Recreation Center
For those that want to stay closer to the venue, Montrose Recreation Center has many activities for everyone to enjoy!
Buzzard Gulch Trails
This trail system is about 15 minutes from the venue! It's a great place to stretch your legs or ride your bike. Please note that there's not a lot of shady spots along the trail.
