Flight
There are direct flights from all major airports into Denver International Airport (DIA). Grand Lake is a 2 hour drive from Denver.
Travel Note
From Denver, take I-70 west for about 45 minutes then get off at US-40 North toward Empire/Granby. You will take Berthoud Pass up and around the mountains, which can be windy and does have drop-offs to the right. It is the only part of the drive where you need to be careful in bad weather. After the Pass, you'll drive past Winter Park Resort and the town then through Fraser/Tabernash and past Lake Granby and Shadow Mountain Lake then finally onto Grand Lake. The Lodge is located up past and above the town.
Rental Car
Car rentals are available at DIA or in downtown Denver via Avis, Budget, or Enterprise.
Train
Option to take the A Line Train from the airport all the way to the last stop, Union Station, and spend a night in Denver before heading to the mountains.
Hotel
The Grand Lake Lodge is your home for the weekend, or even the whole week. Come stay with us as long as you like! The Lodge is located on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, 2 hours from Denver or 45 minutes from Winter Park. You'll have views of the mountains and the lake, with access to trails for hiking, mountain biking, ATVing, trail running, etc. The weather in Colorado is unpredictable so there's a chance you'll be hiking in a tshirt one day and skiing the next. Either way, embrace our home and have fun in the mountains! There are 2, 3, or 5 person cabins available and extra roll-away beds if needed. Almost all cabins are pet friendly but be sure to specify if you need this. All of the cabins are within a short walk of all wedding activities: ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party. There is also a 1/2 mile trail from the lodge down to the town of Grand Lake and the lake itself, or the drive is about 5 minutes.
