We're getting married!

In true Katie and Sammy fashion, our engagement story is a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and a little chaos. A few weeks before the big moment, Katie accidentally found the ring, throwing a curveball into Sammy’s surprise proposal plans. When our foster dog, Toast, was adopted, Sammy had to reveal that a weekend getaway was in the works. Overcome with excitement, Katie immediately called her best friend Megan, crying tears of joy. The day arrived, and after traveling from Montgomery to Birmingham and strolling the Botanical Gardens, Sammy whisked Katie off for a sunset adventure at Bald Rock. There were a few detours (literally) — missed signs, no cell service, and some panicked navigation — but we made it just in time. As we reached the edge of the overlook, a stranger encouraged us with a thick-accented, “You’re almost there to a magnificent view” (Katie still swears Sammy hired him). And then, as the sun dipped below the mountains, Sammy got down on one knee — perfect form, he’ll tell you — forgot everything he planned to say, and asked Katie to marry him. To top it off, Sammy had found a photographer just 24 hours earlier — a dear friend of Katie’s — to capture every moment. We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with romantic dinners, museum visits, and a fun night on the town. It was, simply put, the perfect start to forever.
