We're gettin' hitched!

Katie and Emery first met at Lafayette College in 2009 during volleyball and football preseason of their freshman year. They were both grabbing books from the bookstore in the basement of Farinon and ended up in line together and this is where they first introduced themselves. After making it through preseason, when the school year started, it turned out that they had Chemistry lab together on Thursday mornings. They both had teammates in the class and all of them sat in the front row for the class portion of lab. Emery constantly bugged Katie to borrow pencils and Katie would ask Emery questions about the atomic structures that she didn’t get, they also partnered together for different experiments from time to time. Every week after class, Katie would go to breakfast with her teammate. Nearing about two thirds of the way through the semester, her teammate ended up dropping the class. At lab the following week, Katie mentioned being bummed about not having anyone to go to breakfast with anymore and Emery said he would go with her. When they were at breakfast they joked around and Emery let Katie share his headphones and played her some music. One of the next few weekends, Katie and Emery officially exchanged phone numbers at a party and started consistently talking and seeing each other. It wasn’t until Christmas break, while Katie was working as a Gym Monitor at the Solon Recreation Center, that Emery called her and asked if she officially wanted to be his girlfriend.
