We’re getting married!

Kade and I went to different schools. We both were on the track and field team so we saw eachother at track meets! I think we were both too shy to talk to each other but I always thought he was so cute and so good at discus! I didnt know his name so I used my keen social media investigating skills and followed him on twitter. We went back and forth following eachothers accounts until one of us mustered up the strength to send a message! From there we made plans to hang out and our first “date” was at his high school track, to throw some discus together! We were also accompanied by my dad and brother, but noneless despite our awkwardness something obviously stuck because 5 years later we are engaged and happy as ever!!

Katie and I really enjoy going on mini-adventures together to her favorite place: the Adirondacks. On one of the first trips up to a small hiking trail, we made tye-dye t-shirts the day before to mark the occasion. We had a ton of fun together, realized we were never going to be pro-hikers, and stood in wonder at the peak which overlooked a sea of beautiful fall foliage. 5 years later, with the ring at the ready, I suggested we go for a hike and take our favorite boy Napkins. Our first choice’s trailhead was overflowing with cars, but I was determined to find one. We ended up going to ‘The Pinnacle’. An easy 2-hour round trip where Napkins could be free and we could be reminded that COVID didn’t help us get into shape. The peak was filling with people fast, but so found a small trail just beyond a bush that lead about 20 feet from the crowds. We sat there for a while, so I could inconspicuously retrieve the ring from my backpack, and pondered at the beautiful sight. I looked at Katie and told her I loved her and got to one knee. Next thing I knew, we were both in tears.
