We met on Hinge in the autumn of 2020. Jorge sent Katie a virtual rose, a signal of interest, which Katie ignored for a week because she thought Jorge, 27, was too young for her, 29. Unfortunately, Jorge only had one to give for the next month so he was stuck waiting for Katie. Luckily, Katie responded and they had several Zoom dates. What a time. Jorge passed the first 3 rounds of online interviews and landed an on-site interview at the local tequila bar in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle. Katie found Jorge's pursuit of a doctorate degree to be attractive; lucky for Jorge. After dinner we headed to a nearby dive bar, The Duchess, and Jorge asked Katie to share her photos of a trip to Paris that she remembered fondly. After patiently sifting through all the photos and Katie's enthusiastic stories, a second date was obviously happening. From then on we had dreams of traveling together to Europe and we finally accomplished that this past summer in London. Five years later, we have two cats, Jorge finished his PhD, and we have moved to upstate NY. Looking forward, we still have so many dream destinations to travel to together. We're so excited for all our friends and family from all over the world to come and celebrate with us next June. We hope to see you there!
