Jayson and I had been talking about getting married. He asked me questions about rings, ring size, the proposal, the wedding, etc. I knew he had been looking at rings, but really thought he was struggling to find what he wanted. At least he had led me to believe that he was struggling...apparently he was struggling The weekend of April 25th, I was headed to Huntsville for a low key weekend. My coworker, whose ring I tried on for sizing questions, told me to let her know if I get engaged. I was so sure he didn't have one, and told her that would be weeks or months away. Even Friday night when I was at his house, I told him we could go look at rings on Saturday to help him out...I had no clue. Saturday morning, I arrived at his house around 11, and proceeded to wait for Jayson to get ready for our walk. I was so confused about why he needed to take a shower, want me to pick out his clothes, and wear cologne to eat sandwiches from Publix and go on a walk. But here we were...me confused and clueless and Jayson nervously wanting everything to be perfect (sweet man). We got sandwiches at Publix and ate them in my car while heading to the Indian Creek Greenway for a walk. We parked. I got out and to get Jayson's scooter ready. He said he needed a minute in the car. I was like "whatever, I am going to ride your scooter around"...so I did. When he got out and we started our walk, I was more worried about the hills he was about to have to go up and down then I was anything else. When we finally got to the flat greenway, I started a walking workout on my watch. We talked, laughed, stopped for a "Jayson story", took a picture, sent my dad the pictures, and scooter/walked. It was a lovely day. About half a mile down the greenway, we got to a place where you could see into the creek. Jayson said, "Look at all those fish." I did not see one fish. I stepped closer and eventually saw a few, but he kept exclaiming that there were hundreds. I just didn't see them. As we stood there, I stuck my hand in his pocket and felt the ring box. I thought, "What is that? OH CRAP, that is a ring box. He told me he didn't have any clue what to get me." My eyes got big, my heart beat faster, and I slowly took my hand out of his pocket. It didn't click with him until I removed my hand. He jerked his head toward me and said, "Did you ...". I said, "Maybe." I immediately stepped forward and started looking for all those fish. I did find them. As I turned back around, he was on both knees. He asked me to hold on while he got one foot up. I was giggling. He said, "If you aren't doing anything for the rest of your life, will you marry me?" I said, "Absolutely, Yes!" Took a picture of him on his knee, kissed him, and let him put the ring on my finger. It is BEAUTIFUL, but it didn't fit. He knew it would be too small and knew we only had an hour to get to the jeweler to get it resized. As we walked back to the car, he told me about asking my parents and teared up. He really wanted me to be able to head home with it on my hand. We spent the next 1 hour waiting on the ring. Once it was on my hand, I teared up. It was so sparkly, and I could believe that I was getting to marry him!!
