We originally met at Red's BBQ in Simi Valley, when Eric would come in with his friends and Katie was working. Katie knew Eric as Adam's (groomsmen) friend who refused to add BBQ sauce to his chop salad, just to bicker with Katie. A few years later a night out with Jackie (maid of honor), Katie saw Adam and Eric. But instead of bickering, we started talking about our similar interests of Disneyland and gin.

When we were just going out for an evening with friends, Eric arranged for our dog Avery to make a surprise appearance with Katie's parents. Avery had a special note attached to her collar which insisted on Katie looking at her new dog tag. The heart shaped tag read "Will you marry me" which is when Eric got on one knee and Katie said YES!
