We're Getting Married!!

"When plans get cancelled at the last minute & you end up meeting the man of your dreams instead." Katie was supposed to go to an LSU game that night, but plans got changed at the last minute so she didn't go. She ended up meeting her two cousins, Megan and Leigh and Leigh's fiancee Dylan, at a local bar. Little did she know Derrick would be with them too! Katie asked Megan who that was and to be introduced to him. Later that night, she was dancing with Dylan & he was talking Derrick up asking if she was single and if so he had the "PERFECT GUY FOR HER." Next thing you know, Dylan swapped dance partners with Derrick *very smoothly* & Katie and Derrick were finally introduced! That was the beginning of their lives together!

If you know Derrick, you know his love for the game of peidro. If he has 3 other people who know how to play where ever he may be, a game of peidro is eventually going to be started - & usually lasts all day/night. When Katie & Derrick started dating, he taught her how to play. If they are short one person for a game of peidro, he always asks her to play. Several months ago Katie & her dad were playing on a team against Derrick, winning every game until she had enough of playing. Fast forward to April 20, 2018. Katie’s dad was back in town from work for 2 days so they decided to have just a few people over, including Derrick’s family, for a crawfish boil. “A few people” turned into quite a gathering, which was common for Katie’s family. Everyone was having a great time when a couple hours in, Katie was approached by her dad saying that Derrick was “talking crap” about how we couldn’t beat him in peidro again like we did all those months ago. Knowing she doesn’t like to play for very long, her dad said let’s play ONE HAND to prove we can beat him again, winner takes the bragging rights & she was in! We set up the table to play and everyone seemed to be watching which was uncommon but she just figured that was because it was “the one hand” to decide the winner. Derrick dealt the cards out, but misdealt (he said because he was so nervous) so he had to redeal. This time he dealt them out RIGHT and as Katie sorted through her cards she noticed the very last card in the back felt like something was stuck on it & then noticed it had something written on it in a shiny silver pen. By the time she processed what it said, she noticed Derrick down on one knee with a box in his hand!!! #❤️HappytobeHorn
