It’s Finally Happening!

The bride and groom met in highschool. Katie played softball with Cristians’ brother’s girlfriend at the time. Cristian was interested but Katie had a boyfriend. He eventually “slid into her DM’s” and they hit it off right away. The rest is history!

Katie picked Cristian up at his house. This was really their first time talking in person so you could tell they were both nervous. They headed to the movie theatre, with basically just the music playing...no conversation. They watched "Grown Ups 2", and yes they actually watched the movie. When the movie was done they headed back to Cristian's house and ended the night. Pretty boring 🤷🏽‍♀️

On their 7th anniversary, Cristian planned a special day. First, he took Katie to get her nails done (smart man). They then went to get chinese and watched Katie’s favorite show, “The Office”... duh. They then headed to Chestnut Mountain where they rode giant slides, mini golfed and ziplined. After that, they had dinner at the Captains Table in Moline. Cristian wanted to take Katie to get a few drinks to “celebrate their anniversary” at the Sky Bar in Davenport but Katie was being difficult and needed some persuassion. When arriving to the Sky Bar, Cristian blind folded Katie and took her upstairs. She opened her blindfold to rose petals, candles, a bouqet of roses, a beautiful view of downtown Davenport and her family. Cristian was down on one knee with the ring in his hand with a sign saying “ Kaitlyn Aileen.. will you marry me?” Definitely a night neither of them will forget!

A huge step in Katie and Cristian’s life was adopting their precious fur baby, Winnie! As you all have probably seen, the couple is completely obsessed with her. Katie and Cristian adopted her from A coworker of Katies who had been looking for a home for her. There was absolutely no hesitation and they went to get her the day after they received the message. It took Winnie a few months to warm up to her new parents and home. But now it’s like she is a brand new dog! Winnie plays, runs around the house, and snuggles all day! We’ll see in a few years how she handles not being mom and dad’s only “baby” 👩🏼‍🍼👨🏽‍🍼

Katie and Cristian had the pleasure of buying Katies’ Grandma’s house after she passed. This was something Katie wanted so badly, to keep her grandma’s house in the family. Katie basically grew up here and could not bare to see it go. It’s also something to constanly remind the couple of Katie’s grandparents, who had so much love for eachother and their family. They have enjoyed fixing it up together and continuing to share the love that the house brings!
