Once upon a time, a Nerdy Boy met a Bookish Girl on World of Warcraft, or so he wishes. After a few days of messaging back and forth, they decided they were safe to swap numbers. That night, they stayed up talking and laughing until both of their stomachs started to growl from hunger. The Nerdy Boy and Bookish Girl knew they both needed to eat soon, so why not do it together. They quickly got ready and met for the very first time at the local IHOP. The girl got there before him, which is the first of many times that she would be ready before he is, so she got a booth and waited while texting her friends to let them know where she was and whom to tell the police to look for if she didn’t return. The boy walked in with a confused look on his face, not really sure what the next step was or exactly who he was looking for. But when they locked eyes, they knew. After a long breakfast of waffles, eggs, and chicken-fried steak, they decided that they would do this again, then again, and again.

After a year of dating, the Nerdy Boy and Bookish Girl chose to move in with one another. Little did they know that combining both of their apartments was going to be more difficult than it appeared. Between the action figures (*cough* toys), books, and dogs, their home that seemed big when they looked at it, quickly became very full. Living together brought on its own challenges, sharing the closet space with nerdy boy’s 500 T-shirts that can’t be dried, dog hair floating around everywhere, and craft supplies spilling out of cabinets. They fell into a routine of making dinner together and fighting over what show to watch on what streaming device. Within a few months of moving in together, they opened up their home to a Spunky Danish Girl, who changed their world! They learned about a new country, picked up a new language, and experienced life with a teenage girl. Spunky Danish Girl helped them grow as a couple, as much as they helped her grow. That summer the boy and girl traveled to Denmark to meet the Spunky Danish Girl’s family, where they fell in love with travelling!

The very next year they were given the opportunity to host a Blossoming Thai girl that introduced them to a very different culture. It took awhile for her to break out of her shell, but when she did, nerdy boy and bookish girl couldn’t get her to stop talking! They enjoyed trying new foods together and introducing her to the Christmas season. That year the boy and the girl put their relationship to the test, house hunting in multiple cities! Bookish Girl cared more about what came in the home; a nice kitchen for her to cook and bake in, hardwood floors, the pretty stuff. While Nerdy Boy was interested in the location and how big of a projector screen he could get set up. Ultimately, they agreed that they wanted a home to start a family in and a big enough back yard that their furry friends could run around. They each had reasons as to why each house they looked at wasn’t right for them, but they came to a decision, with the help of their Blossoming Thai Girl. Leaving their first home together and their friends was hard, but they were excited to see where this next chapter, or saga, took them.

Itching to see the world, Nerdy Boy proposed the idea of traveling to New Zealand for a couple of weeks. Bookish Girl quickly jumped at the thought of traveling again, so they booked their flights to see the land down under and Middle Earth. They got lost in the Kiwi way of life and found that traveling is something they both love to do. Nerdy Boy promised to take his bookish girl on many more adventures. On their most recent trip back to the city where they first met, with the couple that has been there from the beginning, Nerdy Boy decided to ask his Bookish Girl to be his one and only forever.
