About Our Destination

Driggs, with its proximity to Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks, is a perfect springboard for a western adventure, and July is a popular time. We recommend booking accommodations early, and, if you can, make a vacation out of it! Please contact us if we can help with ideas on places to stay and visit.

Our Story

Jackson and Kati have known each other since their freshman year at Montana State University. All credit of their introduction can be attributed to Ms. Jayme Dyc (soon to be Heinstedt), Jackson’s childhood best friend from Alma who quickly became Kati’s best friend and dorm room neighbor at MSU. Although sparks flew their freshman year, the fire didn’t start to burn until nearly 3 years later in the summer of 2020. They spent the summer having entirely way too much fun together and knew the feelings from years ago were meant to be. After spending 3 more years living in Bozeman, they moved west to Bend, Oregon. After a busy year in Bend enjoying rivers, volcanoes and music venues of the northwest, they set out across the US to spend time with Kati’s family, while seeing some of their favorite people along the way. The final destination was Williamstown, VT, a quaint, beautiful and lush northeastern paradise. Many miles of mountain bike trails were explored across the state. Every evening at Kati’s brother Ralf’s farm or Karin and Tony’s property were spent eating delicious meals and drinking great Vermont craft beer. After 2 months exploring the US, the couple was fortunate enough to be able to spend 7 weeks backpacking and traveling Southeast Asia together. The journey brought them to Thailand, Indonesia and Laos and was truly the trip of a lifetime. They met up with many old friends from Jackson’s high school and time studying abroad, as well as their best friends from college. Seeing familiar faces from all around the globe was such an amazing privilege and made every moment even more enjoyable. Learning to surf, scuba dive and navigate lawless highways on a moped kept them busy every day. Once the gallivanting was over, Jackson and Kati decided on a homecoming for Kati and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. They are still living there now and love everything Salt Lake has to offer. They are surrounded by friends, old and new, as well incredible mountains with endless recreation. Last fall, after a week in El Salvador surfing and enjoying the beach with friends, Kati and Jackson spent a week in Panama together. They stayed on the remote paradise of Contadora Island. On Thanksgiving evening, before what Jackson said was just a nice dinner to celebrate the holiday, he finally worked up the courage to ask Kati to spend the rest of their lives together! The gorgeous beach they had to themselves was the perfect setting. Thanksgiving is now Kati’s favorite holiday. Since being engaged, the couple has not slowed down. They now have a new member of the family, a puppy from the Navajo reservation by the name of Lila Boots. These are exciting times as they plan for their wedding, set to be held in Driggs, ID in front of the glorious Teton mountains. They cannot wait to see everyone there and celebrate a lifetime full of love together.
