What was meant to be a simple first date turned into hours of effortless conversation. After dinner, we sat in the parking lot of the Coeur d’Alene library sharing music, singing along to our favorite songs, and completely losing track of time. When we finally said goodnight, there were real butterflies and a quiet, mutual feeling that this was something different. From the beginning, being together felt easy. We met at 18 and grew up side by side, navigating early adulthood and learning what it meant to build a life as a team. Whether we’re chasing a smokin’ deal, taking on messy projects, singing karaoke around the house or just talking for hours about everything and nothing, we’ve always been best friends first. A lot of our story unfolded at Andy’s Classic Mustangs. Ethan worked there restoring classic cars alongside the Kautzman’s, who quickly became family, and Kati began stopping by after work just to spend more time together. For her birthday, Ethan bought Kati her first tool — a Snap-on ratchet. In a twist neither of us saw coming, that connection led to Kati becoming the Snap-on representative at Andy’s, where she’s shown up every Tuesday for the past four years. What started as extra time together became woven into both of our lives. Over time, Andy’s became more than a workplace, it became home. It’s a place where old things are treasured, not trashed and broken things are restored, not replaced- which feels symbolic of the kind of love we’ve built. Choosing to get married here wasn’t about finding the most traditional or picture perfect venue. It was about choosing the place that holds our history, our people, and so many of our favorite memories. We can’t wait to stand in a space that means so much to us and write the next chapter of our love story.
