Why did you decide to elope?

Answer

We've always talked about eloping - we're not big on being center of attention, and we wanted to prioritize building a family together over having a big wedding. We also knew we wanted to get married at Tower Hill in the Orangerie with all of the plants, and due to limited space the guest maximum was 20 guests.

Why so soon?

Answer

We knew we wanted to get married in January! When we started dating the first time our anniversary was in January, so it just felt right. The song You In January by the Wonder Years was always significant to our relationship, and we knew we wanted an instrumental version to be the bridal entrance song - we were even lucky enough to get that beautiful January light for our ceremony! We also knew we didn't want to wait another year to be married, wanted to grow our family this year, and since we had wanted to elope anyways, it just made sense! The tropical plants at the botanical garden are typically outside in the summer and brought in during the colder months, which we really wanted for the ceremony in the Orangerie
