The countdown begins

It all began with Katie posting a selfie on Instagram, noticing Patrick had liked it, which intrigued her. What has he been up to? And she learned he was single - that was news to her! So, being who she is, she asked, "Why are you single?" To which Patrick replied, "Life happens, Katie" and the rest is history. Patrick and Katie both went to the same high school and both grew up in Murfreesboro, TN but didn't really run in the same circles. She was a band kid, he played baseball. They had a couple classes together throughout school but ultimately they remained just distant acquaintances. As young adults do, they maintained social media ties and kept up with each other's journeys from afar, not really thinking they'd ever talk in person again after graduation. But lo and behold, when you stop looking, the best person for you usually shows up in your life, and that is exactly what happened. Patrick and Katie love to spend time with their dogs, their friends and family, and Patrick's son, River, who is the light of their lives. Their friends are now friends with each other, so it has been a perfect blending of two lives. For example, Allen is one of Katie's very best friends, but now Patrick and Allen are best friends too! They support each other in all that they do - Katie is now the band director at the high school they attended (where Patrick's baseball coach is now her colleague LOL) and Patrick is the Assistant Chief Financial Officer for a major hospital in Nashville, Centennial, and company known as HCA. They are both go getters but, in their leisure, they have learned to cook together, which has become their favorite couple activity. Just look at their *two* completely filled spice cabinets! Patrick and Katie started talking back in November 2023, so you can imagine the last three years have been filled with many adventures! They have traveled to Boulder, CO; Miami, FL; and Chicago, IL to name a few places. They've gone to many concerts, including Jacob Collier back in October 2025, where Patrick planned to propose... but it ended up being one of those concerts where you sit the whole time... he couldn't do it then!! So when they got to the parking garage at the end of the night, and it was just the two of them, he got down on one knee and said he couldn't wait any longer. Which brings us to present day, where they continue supporting live music and checking out new restaurants. Their love story is unique, full of lots of lessons and love.
