We met through a mutual friend (Heineken Ed), while working as a Claims Adjuster for GB Services in NYC. My colleagues may know me as Marie, but family and friends know me as Katia. The first time I met Max, it was a professional meet and greet, I introduced myself as Katia, instead of Marie. We exchanged contact info and of course gave him my work number as opposed to my cell ( I was not looking to be involved in a relationship, neither was he...so he says, lol). On our first date, rushing to leave work (of course I was late), I forgot his business card on my desk. Long story short, we blew our first date. We both waited for approximately 30-45 minutes within the same vicinity, sadly enough, different corners. The following day, I called his office to figure out what happened and rescheduled our next date. This time we exchanged cell phone numbers, for no mis-haps. Our official first date was at the South Street Seaport, which became our go-to for almost every date. After one year of his pursuit, I realized we had something special. The way he treated me was mind-blowing and I just knew he cared so much by his pursuit. Gradually we met both sides of our families. I spent Thanksgiving 2013 with his family, they were beyond welcoming & simply amazing. Fast forward five or six years later, (he counts the whole year he pursued me and I start counting from our first kiss), he treats me the same. After several years of joy, tears & laughter, we’re making it official by "tying the knot”. We’re excited for you to come and celebrate with us!
We vacationed in Los Cabos, MX in March 2018. As we landed, he bought me the strongest Margarita (best ever, also can you say...set up). So of course, feeling good, arriving early and waiting to check in, we decided to walk around the resort and take pictures. I started throwing hints of how beautiful it would be to have our wedding there, and jokingly mentioned the ring (there’s nothing traditional about our relationship) lol. I knew of the ring since my birthday weekend. I got sized and picked out what I liked, Max and the jeweler did the rest. Back to the story...as we’re sitting in the lobby, he gets up and asked if I wanted another drink, still feeling good from the Margarita and grinning from ear to ear, I said I’m ok, but guess what? He brought me... another Margarita. As he handed me the drink he said, “since you’re asking about the ring, I was planning on proposing this weekend anyway… the view is stunning for our wedding." He pulled the box out his pocket, got on “the good knee," and asked me to be his wife. Unintentionally I asked, “Are you serious?” Of course I said “YES!!!” After soaking it all in…I texted the fam.
